Greenberg Traurig Tampa Hosts Eighth Annual ‘Concert in the Courtyard’

TAMPA, FLA. (Nov. 19, 2014) – The Tampa office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig hosted its Eighth Annual “Concert in the Courtyard” event on Thursday, Nov. 13. Greenberg Traurig partnered with Opera Tampa, the resident opera company of the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Celebrating its 20th season this year, Opera Tampa produces and presents full-scale productions featuring international performers under the direction of world-renowned composer-conductor Daniel Lipton.

The concert featured several of Opera Tampa’s “Up & Coming” performers along with special guest Cody Austin, who joins Opera Tampa’s “New Voices” this season.  Judith Lisi, President and CEO of the Straz Center, acknowledged Greenberg Traurig’s ongoing patronage as she introduced the program and performers.  The program featured highlights from the Florida Opera Festival’s 2014-15 season, including selections from Verdi’s Rigoletto and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

“We are proud to continue Greenberg Traurig’s tradition and commitment of supporting the arts and culture of our community, its people, and its institutions,” said Tampa Managing Shareholder David B. Weinstein. The event brought together local elected officials, business leaders, and community leaders from around the Tampa Bay area for the evening’s outdoor concert.

Weinstein serves as Chair of the firm’s Global Environmental & Toxic Torts Litigation Practice and also is a member of the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts Board of Trustees.
