Dorothee Fischer-Appelt to Join Greenberg Traurig’s London Office

LONDON – Jan. 21, 2015 – Internationally acclaimed corporate attorney Dorothee Fischer-Appelt will join the London office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, as a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice.

Dorothee Fischer-Appelt has served as a partner at Sidley Austin LLP since 2011. Her main practice area is capital markets. Dorothee has worked on a wide range of European and international equity and debt capital markets transactions representing both issuers and underwriters, including IPOs, secondary equity offerings, structured equity offerings, convertibles, warrants, block trades, high yield offerings, Rule 144A debt offerings, covered bonds, exchange offers, and consent solicitations.

Dorothee also has substantial experience advising on private M&A transactions and finance related restructurings. She is both New York and English law qualified, and while the majority of her practice is advising on U.S. securities offerings, she also advises on English law governed transactions.

"We are obviously very excited and pleased indeed that Dorothee, who has an outstanding reputation, has chosen to join us. She will supplement and complement our strong Capital Markets and Finance practices here in London and in our other European jurisdictions and the United States," said Paul Maher, chairman of Greenberg Traurig Maher LLP in London and co-chairman of the firm's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group.

“Besides being a great fit culturally, Dorothee brings a unique blend of deep UK and European capital markets experience, particularly on the debt capital markets side, that has been a strategic need for some time to complement our strong M&A and equity capital markets practices. She will bring important client relationships and is a collaborative individual who will bolster our practice in London while at the same time providing much needed support for our other locations, especially in Europe and the United States," said Richard A. Rosenbaum, Chief Executive Officer of Greenberg Traurig.
