MIAMI – Aug. 5, 2015 – Sabrina R. Ferris, co-hiring shareholder of the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been named a Founding Friend and Council Member of Beyond Type 1, an organization dedicated to raising awareness, understanding and support for those living with type 1 diabetes.
Beyond Type 1 Founders + Founding Friends pay all operational and fundraising expenses which allows the organization to directly support global efforts and programs working to educate, advocate and cure type 1 diabetes with 100 percent of every dollar raised. As a Council Member, Ferris will also help coordinate fundraising and awareness efforts within the Miami community while also being involved in international initiatives.
“I am proud to be a part of this organization and to support the global efforts to educate the community and to develop a cure for type 1 diabetes,” Ferris said.
Ferris is a trial lawyer who focuses her practice on products liability and complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. She also advises and represents health care clients under state and federal regulatory compliance laws, relating to health care fraud and abuse, Medicare, Medicaid, third-party reimbursement programs, false claims laws and regulations, STARK law and anti-kickback laws.
