Firm Names 2016 Shareholder/Of Counsel Class

NEW YORK – Feb. 26, 2016 – International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced the elevation of Courtney E. McGuinn, James S.H. Null, and Helena Raifman to shareholder, and Hal N. Beerman, Irene L. Brookins, Marlene C. Guzzino, Shifra Herzberg, and Justin A. MacLean to of counsel in the firm's New York office. Firmwide, Greenberg Traurig elevated 30 attorneys to shareholder and 14 to of counsel to its 2016 class.

McGuinn concentrates her practice on virtually all aspects of commercial real estate with focuses on real estate finance and debt restructurings of commercial properties. This experience includes representing institutional lenders, investors, and private equity funds in connection with loans intended for securitizations secured by commercial real estate, as well as construction loans, mezzanine loans, and other subordinate debt financings.

Null advises on U.S. federal tax matters, including U.S. inbound and outbound investments, U.S. and international entertainment and media transactions, domestic and international tax planning for individual, corporate, and partnership transactions, as well as private equity investments and structures using U.S. and non-U.S. treaty networks.

Raifman represents owners, investors, borrowers, lenders, and developers in various types of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, permanent, bridge and construction financing, mezzanine financing, equity investments, and leasing. She has extensive experience in assemblage and portfolio transactions.

Beerman focuses his practice on commercial real estate litigation with an emphasis on landlord-tenant matters, ownership disputes, party wall issues, and mechanic’s liens. Beerman also has extensive experience with general commercial litigation in New York state and federal courts.

Guzzino represents retailers, landlords, developers, banks, educational institutions and art dealers/collectors, negotiating all types of leases and occupancy agreements as well as reciprocal easement agreements, purchase and development agreements, and alternative financing arrangements.

Herzberg focuses her practice on all aspects of estate planning, estate administration, and post-mortem tax planning.

MacLean focuses his practice on patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation. He has been involved in all stages of litigation from pre-litigation diligence and enforcement and preliminary injunction proceedings through discovery (including electronic discovery), summary judgment, and trial, as well as in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
