2 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Named to Law360’s ‘Rising Stars’ List

NEW YORK – April 8, 2016 – Two shareholders from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP have been named to Law360’s “Rising Stars” 2016 list. Danielle Gonzalez was selected for the Real Estate list and Christiana Callahan Jacxsens was named to the Product Liability list.

The list features 179 attorneys under 40, selected from more than 1,100 submissions, representing 87 law firms across 32 practice areas. The winners were selected based on their career accomplishments in their respective practice areas, according to the legal newswire. This is Gonzalez and Jacxsens’ debut on the list.

Gonzalez, a shareholder in the Miami office, concentrates her practice in various areas of commercial real estate law. From coast to coast in 2015, she closed or entered into more than 80 real estate transactions totaling at least $4 billion in deal value from Jan. 1, 2015, to date in over 20 states. She represents national and Florida-based clients in connection with the acquisition, financing, leasing, and disposition of retail, office, industrial, and multifamily residential properties throughout the United States. Gonzalez has a wide range of experience in the area of commercial leasing, and represents both landlords and tenants on leases covering quick service restaurants, shopping centers, industrial space, and office buildings. She represents sellers and purchasers in connection with the acquisition and disposition of numerous types of real property. She counsels borrowers in connection with secured financings, including acquisition loans, refinances, and defeasances. She also has experience counseling retail clients on the development of shopping center pads for brand-specific uses, including the negotiation of ground leases, CC&Rs, easements, and design guidelines. Gonzalez is a prolific deal maker whose annual deal volume for the past several years consistently reaches into the billions of dollars.

Jacxsens, a shareholder in the Atlanta office, concentrates her practice on complex medical and products liability litigation, with a focus on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. She has served as second-chair trial counsel in complex medical negligence cases and has assisted in the trials of medical device products liability and clinical trial cases. Jacxsens has experience managing litigation, including mass tort litigation, involving a variety of products and medical issues, such as pharmaceuticals, orthopedic and spinal medical devices, ICDs, sutures, surgical mesh devices, and investigational products. In addition, she advises hospitals, physician groups, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies on regulatory and compliance matters, including informed consent issues, adverse event reporting, and HIPAA compliance. Jacxsens has a unique passion for preventive law counseling and assisting her clients in managing litigation risk, including issues with product development or acquisitions, product surveillance and FDA reporting, clinical trial and distribution agreements, field actions and quality assurance documents, and compliance with FDA regulations and other applicable federal and state laws. Her counseling work includes training employees, including sales representatives, regulatory, technical product, and product surveillance employees, and on a variety of risk issues.
