Bass Recognized with 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award, Gonzalez Named Rising Star

MIAMI May 31, 2016Greenberg Traurig Co-President Hilarie Bass and Miami Real Estate Shareholder Danielle Gonzalez were honored at the Daily Business Review’s Professional Excellence Awards held May 19 at the Coral Gables Country Club in Coral Gables.

Bass was honored as part of the Daily Business Review’s second annual 2016 Lifetime Achievement awards. Attorneys and judges were selected for their outstanding service to the Florida legal community.

“I am honored to be recognized among this class of South Florida’s legal leaders,” Bass said. “Through our collective efforts, together we can help continue to make our community a better place.”

Gonzalez was named to the publication’s 2016 class of Rising Stars, a group of South Florida lawyers under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the community.

“To be included among some of South Florida’s brightest young lawyers is truly an honor,” Gonzalez said. “I look forward to continuing to make a difference in the community through my work and dedication to local charitable organizations.”

Based in the firm’s Miami office, Bass is the President-Elect Nominee of the American Bar Association. She will take office at the annual meeting in August, serving a one-year term as President-Elect before becoming ABA President in August 2017.

During her more than 30-year career, she has successfully represented clients in commercial cases in jury and non-jury trials involving hundreds of millions of dollars in controversy. She is currently Lead Counsel for the Homebuilder Group in the Chinese Drywall MDL, having served as Lead Liaison counsel in prior MDL’s. Bass is widely recognized for her pro bono work on behalf of two foster children which led to the elimination and holding of the unconstitutionality of the 20-year-old ban on gay adoption in the State of Florida.

Gonzalez, a shareholder in the Miami office, concentrates her practice in various areas of commercial real estate law. She represents national and Florida-based clients in connection with the acquisition, financing, leasing and disposition of retail, office, industrial and multifamily residential properties throughout the United States.
