Greenberg Traurig Tallahassee Attorney John Londot Receives McAfee Institute Cyber Certifications

TALLAHASSEE – August 2, 2016 – International law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. announced that John Londot, a shareholder from the Tallahassee office, has been certified by the McAfee Institute as a Cyber Threat Forensic Investigator (CTFI) and Certified Cyber Investigative Expert (CCIE).

"With these certifications, John will be able to assist our clients to help them combat the online threats that now inevitably come along with living and doing business in the 21st century,” said Fred Baggett, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Tallahassee office. “I commend his efforts to continue to broaden his knowledge and experience in the ever-growing practice of computer law.”

According to the McAfee Institute, CTFIs are subject matter experts on cyber threats, investigations, forensic examination and prosecution, possessing advanced knowledge in analyzing cyber-security risks, developing protection and response options and assessing operational requirements. CCIEs are the industry’s most elite cyber investigators, trained in advanced and state of the art methodologies to identify, investigate and resolve complex cyber-crimes.

Londot practices in commercial, constitutional, employment, real estate, and securities litigation, as well as administrative and professional regulatory law. He is also well-versed in computer law, having used the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and federal litigation to remove “revenge porn” from the Internet. Before joining Greenberg Traurig in 2002, John served in the United States Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps as a criminal defense attorney at Yokosuka, Japan, and later as a senior trial counsel in the Navy’s busiest judicial circuit at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
