Greenberg Traurig Shareholders Fred E. Karlinsky and Lori S. Nugent Participate in Casualty Actuarial Society’s Annual Meeting

FORT LAUDERDALE and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Nov. 8, 2017) – Greenberg Traurig attorneys Fred E. Karlinsky and Lori S. Nugent participated in the “Cyber and Data Security: Coverage and Compliance Considerations” panel at the Casualty Actuarial Society Annual Meeting, held in Anaheim, CA on Nov. 5-8, 2017. Moderated by Wesley Griffiths, Second Vice President and Actuary at Travelers, the panel also featured Karl Pedersen, Senior Advisory Specialist at Marsh FINPRO.

During this session, panelists explored modern cybersecurity developments and challenges facing insurance regulators. These included the recently adopted New York cybersecurity regulation and the proposed National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) cybersecurity model law, among other issues. Best practices for avoiding, mitigating, and responding to breaches were also discussed.

Karlinsky is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory & Transactions Practice and a shareholder within the Government Law & Policy Group.
