Greenberg Traurig's Dallas Office Adds 4 Attorneys to its Real Estate Practice

DALLAS, Texas – Sept. 27, 2017 – Continuing its strategic expansion in Texas, global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added a team of four attorneys in its Dallas office Real Estate Practice. The team, all previously with Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP, includes Shareholder Bud Doxey and Associates Lolly Chauppette, David Ortigoza, and Wes Smith.

Doxey has a truly national practice with wide-ranging experience advising on commercial real estate transactions across the country. He represents a variety of clients on real estate matters of all product types, including joint venture formation and structuring (both as-built properties and ground-up development), asset and entity acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, financing on behalf of borrowers, and general property and asset management. Doxey earned his J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University.

Chauppette’s practice focuses on a wide range of real estate and real estate-based finance matters. Her experience includes real estate acquisition, development, leasing, and financing, including office, retail, multi-family, and multi-use properties. She represents commercial real estate investors in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, operation, management, and development of real property. Chauppette earned her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans.

Ortigoza’s practice involves commercial real estate, including acquisition and disposition of fee and ground leasehold interests; real property financing and refinancing; lease agreements for office, retail, and industrial properties; and joint venture transactions and sale-leaseback transactions. He also assists clients with matters related to the transactions listed above, such as title, survey, and zoning due diligence; forming entities; negotiating loan agreements; property management agreements; and leasing agreements. Ortigoza earned his J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law and his B.S., cum laude, from the University of Southern California.

Smith focuses his practice on transactional real estate. Smith handles commercial real estate matters, including the acquisition, financing, leasing, and disposition of office, multifamily, multi-use, retail, and industrial properties throughout the United States. Smith earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
