2 GT Attorneys Featured in Daily Journal’s Inaugural Cybersecurity/AI Supplement

Ballon and Francoise Gilbert of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP are featured on a list of 20 California lawyers honored by The Daily Journal in its inaugural Cybersecurity/AI Supplement. The list features 20 attorneys from California who assist clients in navigating legal and regulatory issues involving artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity.

Ballon and Gilbert have expansive experience in cybersecurity and data privacy, representing a diverse client base in litigation (Ballon) and global transactions (Gilbert). Both attorneys are also successful authors and frequently recognized by industry publications for their work and thought leadership on global data privacy and security.

Ballon defends data privacy, security breach, and TCPA class action suits, in addition to representing companies in other technology, IP and internet, and mobile-related complex litigation. In addition, he is the author of “The Complete CAN-SPAM Act Handbook” (West 2008) and “The Complete State Security Breach Notification Compliance Handbook” (West 2009). Gilbert focuses her practice and research on complex or emerging U.S. and global data privacy and cybersecurity issues, including, among others, preparation for and compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other data protection laws in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, as well as compliance issues that are faced by businesses operating in artificial intelligence, data analytics, connected devices, sensors, robotics, and other emerging technologies, as well as e-commerce, m-commerce, and digital advertising. Her clients include data analytics companies, connected device developers, cloud service providers, publishers, internet stores, as well as insurance companies, financial institutions, manufacturers, trade associations, non-profit organizations, software developers, and others. Gilbert is the author of the best-selling two-volume treatise “Global Privacy and Security Law,” published by Wolters Kluwer (www.globalprivacybook.com), and the co-author of a dozen other collective works, including most recently, “Robotic Technologies Law,” published by Larcier, and “Internet of Things and Data Analytics,” published by Wiley.
