NEW YORK – Jan. 29, 2018 – Steven C. Russo, chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s New York Environmental Practice, has been named chair of the board of the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV).
According to Politico, Russo will replace current Chair Kevin Corbett and play a role in picking the successor of NYLCV President Marcia Bystryn later this year. Russo has served on the Board of NYLCV for the past three years, as well as the Co-Chair of NYLCV’s Policy Committee. NYLCV is non-partisan and the only environmental organization in New York State that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy and open space through political action.
Russo focuses his practice on environmental law and litigation, environmental permitting, National Environmental Policy Act, State Environmental Quality Review Act review, toxic tort litigation, environmental crimes, Brownfields redevelopment, government, energy, and the environmental aspects of land use and real estate law.
Russo is frequently recognized for his legal achievements and has been listed in Chambers USA Guide, U.S. News- Best Lawyers, The Legal 500 United States, The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers Magazine, among others. He is also an executive committee member of the Environmental Law Section at the New York State Bar Association, has served on the board of the New York City Environmental Control Board, and was previously chair of the Business Law Section of the Environmental Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association.
