Three Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Named to Leadership Miami 2018-2019

MIAMI – Oct. 30, 2018 The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Miami” initiative has accepted three attorneys from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. for the 2018-2019 class. Fort Lauderdale Shareholder Avi Benayoun and Miami Associates William E. Keenen and Angela A. Korge are joining the program.

Sponsored by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC), the Leadership Miami program is in partnership with the South Florida Progress Foundation, and helps to cultivate young community leaders. The annual program offers participants an intensive learning experience that focuses on community issues and leadership development through a planned series of lectures, seminars, small group discussions, leadership skills exercises, and most importantly, participation in a volunteer service project.

“Leadership Miami is an excellent program for educating young leaders and encouraging them to become more engaged in our South Florida communities,” said Jaret L. Davis, co-managing shareholder of the Greenberg Traurig Miami office and Leadership Miami alumnus. “We are very proud of Avi, William and Angela and their commitment to making an impact in our communities.”

A member of the firm’s Litigation Practice, Benayoun is a seasoned litigator who brings strategic solutions to complex legal matters. With a background rooted in finance and economics, he is a business-focused commercial litigator with deep experience handling complex commercial disputes in virtually every forum on behalf of corporations and individuals. In serving his clients, Benayoun also brings deep eDiscovery and eRetention experience having been published and spoken on the topic throughout the U.S. This makes him particularly valuable as he can, and often does, eliminate the need to hire separate counsel to navigate through the complexities of the eDiscovery and eRetention minefield present in many of today’s litigation matters. Benayoun is an alumnus and veteran of both Leadership Fort Lauderdale and Leadership Broward and looks forward to bringing a regional perspective to the incoming class.

Keenen is part of the firm’s Private Wealth Services Practice, and focuses his practice on trust and estate matters, including estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. He is experienced in the areas of multigenerational wealth transfer, life insurance, post-mortem tax and pre-immigration planning, and cross-border investment. Keenen’s practice includes the negotiation and preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. In addition, he counsels clients with respect to the day-to-day administration of trusts and estates, and assists corporate and individual fiduciaries as well as beneficiaries in litigated trust and probate matters. Keenen has represented clients in tax controversies and other tax matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), including in matters involving U.S. income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax, and offshore voluntary disclosure, issues.

Korge is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice and concentrates her practice on civil litigation matters in both federal and state courts. She has experience in various domestic and international complex commercial disputes including breach of contract, products liability, fraud, and business torts claims, as well as class action matters. Korge’s practice includes extensive eDiscovery management and working with clients through all phases of litigation. She is also active in pro bono work involving immigration matters and has succeeded in achieving asylum for pro bono clients. Korge is committed to contributing to Miami’s communities and maintains leadership roles in the United Way’s LINC Executive Committee and Alfalit International’s Young Professionals Board.
