Dwayne Mason Elected to the Board of HIPLA

HOUSTON – April 09, 2018 – Shareholder Dwayne L. Mason of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has been elected to the Board of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association (HIPLA). Mason’s 2-year term as a director of the HIPLA board began April 1, 2018.

HIPLA’s members are primarily Houston-based intellectual property attorneys and law students. According to its website, the organization promotes the development and understanding of intellectual property law through meetings, sponsored CLE events, and amicus briefs.

Head of the firm’s Texas Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, Mason focuses on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and technology-based commercial litigation. He also manages patent and trademark portfolios, and assists companies in protecting and commercializing their intellectual property.

In addition to serving as a director of the Board of HIPLA, Mason is a Founding member and Master for the Honorable Nancy F. Atlas Intellectual Property American Inn of Court and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the New York Intellectual Property Law Association. He also serves or has previously served as a director of several other boards for local organizations including Harris County Improvement District No. 18, AVANCE – Houston, Inc., and International Leadership Institute – Houston Accelerate Council.
