Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch Wins Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year for Central & Eastern Europe at Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: Europe 2019

NEW YORK – Oct. 9, 2019Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch, head of the Real Estate Practice in the Warsaw office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, was selected as the Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year for Central & Eastern Europe at the inaugural Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: Europe recently held in Amsterdam. The award is for a partner who is leading the way in their commitment to gender diversity. Natalie Carter, an associate in the firm’s London office, was recognized at the event as “Highly Commended” for the Future Leader - Minority Lawyers Award.

In addition, Fiona Adams, managing shareholder of the firm’s London office and the co-chair of its Global Corporate Practice, was shortlisted for the Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year - Europe-wide Award given to a partner who is leading the way in their commitment to gender diversity and inclusion. Warsaw Senior Associate Paulina Kimla-Kaczorowska was shortlisted by Chambers for the Future Leader - Gender Diversity Award for an associate or senior associate who is leading the way in their commitment to gender diversity and inclusion. The firm’s Warsaw office was also shortlisted for the Outstanding Firm for Furthering Diversity and Inclusion Award recognizing a firm’s efforts to ensure that diverse candidates are given equal opportunities in recruitment, retention, and promotion. 

Chambers and Partners notes that the awards celebrate in-house legal teams and law firms who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion across Europe: “With clients increasingly demanding to see improvements in inclusion from their law firms, the awards provide an opportunity for both general counsel and law firms to demonstrate the key work and success they are bringing to shifting the inclusion dial. The awards ceremony and dinner took place in Amsterdam on Oct. 1. The host for the evening was the Chambers and Partners Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Dee Sekar.
