Greenberg Traurig's Lori G. Cohen and Sara K. Thompson to Speak at DRI Product Liability Conference

ATLANTA – Feb. 5, 2019 – Shareholders Lori G. Cohen and Sara K. Thompson of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Atlanta office are speaking at the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Product Liability Conference. Greenberg Traurig is a sponsor of the conference, which will be held in Austin, TX, Feb. 6-8, at the JW Marriott Austin.

DRI’s Annual Product Liability Conference delivers programming, networking, and business development opportunities to defense attorneys and in-house counsel. On Feb. 6, Thompson is speaking during the Mass Torts & Class Actions session on “Litigation Tourism: How the Plaintiff and Defense Bars are Looking at Bristol-Myers Squibb,” with co-panelist Ken Seeger of Seeger Weiss. Both defense and plaintiff attorneys will examine the impact of the Bristol Myers-Squibb personal jurisdiction decision on mass torts and class actions and how litigants have responded to it. On Feb. 7, Cohen is speaking in a session titled, “Engaging Today’s Jurors Through Themes, Demonstratives, and Graphics,” about connecting with jurors at trial through cutting-edge visual and thematic cues and tools in order to captivate and persuade them.

Both Cohen and Thompson have spent decades defending product liability lawsuits nationwide against product manufacturers across many industries including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, personal care products, automotive products, machinery, textiles and home goods. Cohen serves as chair and Thompson as vice chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice. Cohen also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Global Litigation Practice, chair of the Trial Practice Group, and co-chair of the Atlanta Litigation Practice.
