Kaitlyn R. Maxwell to Speak on Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances for Pennsylvania Bar Institute Webinar

PHILADELPHIA – July 18, 2019 – Kaitlyn R. Maxwell, a member of the Environmental Practice at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will speak on a webinar hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute July 22.

The webinar, titled “Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) – Regulation, Liabilities, and Potential Cost Recovery,” will provide an overview of PFAS, address Pennsylvania’s plans to investigate potential PFAS contamination in public water supplies and identify potential ways PFAS contamination can impact real estate transactions. The webinar will also cover the implications of defining certain PFAS as “hazardous substances” as well as recent actions taken by the EPA and FDA.

Maxwell advises clients on regulatory compliance issues and in transactions involving the sale of contaminated real property. She represents clients in environmental litigation in state and federal courts and her experience includes litigation of major contamination cases under the hazardous waste and Superfund laws. Maxwell also is a regular contributor to Greenberg Traurig’s E2 Law Blog, which provides insights and updates on environmental and energy issues nationwide.
