Arleen Nand Honored with Diversity & Inclusion Award

MINNEAPOLIS – Aug. 12, 2019Arleen A. Nand, a shareholder in the Minneapolis office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been honored with a Minnesota Lawyer Diversity & Inclusion Award. The award honors those in the legal profession that go above and beyond in their efforts to create a more diverse and inclusionary community. Nand will formally receive the award on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

An outside panel of judges selected 25 honorees looking particularly closely at individuals and organizations with a consistent track record in advocating for diversity and inclusion. Not only in words but in action.  

Nand is chair of the firm’s Global Agribusiness Practice. She represents commercial, cooperative, development and investment banks, as well as hedge funds, private equity firms, and corporations in cross-border and domestic financings. She has structured, drafted, and negotiated more than $40 billion of investment grade, leveraged finance, and commercial paper transactions. Nand is a fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers and co-chair of the ABA International Commercial Law Subcommittee for the Business Law Section. 

Dedicated to the advancement of diverse attorneys in the legal field, Nand regularly mentors other lawyers and students and is active in many local diverse organizations and has held several leadership positions. She is a member of the Advisory Board of Women in Agribusiness and co-chair of the Financial Services Affinity Group for the National Association of Women Lawyers. In 2018, she received the Virginia S. Mueller Outstanding Member Award from the National Association of Women Lawyers.
