Greenberg Traurig’s Shari L. Heyen a Panelist for ABA Webinar on Recidivist Debtors

HOUSTON – Oct. 28, 2020 – Shari L. Heyen, shareholder and co-chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice, will participate in an American Bar Association (ABA) webinar to be held Oct. 29.

Heyen will speak on the panel, "Recidivist Debtors: Chapter 22s of Oil & Gas Business Debtors: Why Is It Happening Now?" Panelists will discuss the recent influx of repeat chapter 11 debtors, factors causing distress in the oil and gas industry, and best practices in chapter 22 cases.

She has represented numerous creditors' committees, debtors, bank groups, acquirers, and other significant constituencies in national chapter 11 cases and workout proceedings, including complex oil, gas, and energy cases. Heyen has broad experience in the prosecution and defense of fiduciary litigation, oil and gas, alternative energy matters, receiverships, health care, and real estate.
