Greenberg Traurig’s Alexander J. Kim Appointed to Patent Law Diversity Advisory Group

MINNEAPOLIS – Nov. 3, 2020Alexander J. Kim, a shareholder in the Minneapolis office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been appointed to serve on the Patent Law Diversity Advisory Group at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

The Patent Law Diversity Advisory Group was created to help ensure diverse students thrive while at Mitchell Hamline and to assist diverse students in obtaining meaningful employment upon graduation. Members of the Advisory Group will draw on their knowledge and experience in the patent space to help focus diversity efforts and evaluate results. Members will also be a vital source of advice, guidance, and wisdom for the diverse students of Mitchell Hamline.

Kim is recognized by Intellectual Asset Management’s (IAM) Patent 1000 as one of “The World’s Leading Patent Professionals” and currently serves as the president of the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL). He focuses his practice on matters involving U.S. patent prosecution as well as counseling clients on international patent matters. He has wide-ranging experience in prosecuting patent applications in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He knows how to strategize domestic and international intellectual property rights so that the companies can be positioned to reach their business goals. Kim has a background in physics, chemistry, biophysics, computational biology, and physiology, and deep knowledge across a broad range of technologies and industries.
