Lori Cohen and Sabrina Gallo Speak at ACI Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law Conference

ATLANTA – Nov. 20, 2020Lori G. Cohen, vice chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and Sabrina R. Gallo, chair of the firm’s Miami Products Liability Practice, spoke at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) 7th Annual Conference on Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law which was held virtually Nov. 17–18. Greenberg Traurig served as a sponsor of the annual career development and networking event and sponsored the Virtual Networking Hour on Nov. 17.
 
Cohen, who is also co-chair of the firm’s Global Litigation Practice, chair of the Greenberg Traurig’s Trial Practice Group, and chair of GT’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Group, conducted the keynote interview with Lori Henderson, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Moderna Therapeutics, a biotechnology company that focuses on drug development, and vaccine technologies based on messenger RNA or “mRNA”. Cohen also moderated an interactive discussion and networking group during the Virtual Networking Hour around the theme, “Moving Forward Together: Reflections on 2020 and Hope for the Future.” Cohen is a member of the Women Leaders in Life Science Advisory Board and served as co-chair of the event from 2014 – 2018.

Gallo presented on a panel titled, “Breaking Through Bias: Overcoming Gendered Perceptions in the Workplace, Boardroom and Courtroom” on Nov. 17. Gallo and the other panelists discussed a variety of topics including strategies for overcoming gendered meeting dynamics, tactics for fighting against workplace double-standards that hold women back, and the different presentation styles of female advocates in the courtroom.

ACI's Women Leaders in Life Science Law Conference is an annual educational and networking event that brings together over 200 professionals from the biotech, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries. According to its website, the annual event is aimed at increasing the prominence of women through professional development, substantive legal discussions, and woman-to-woman networking.
