Kristen J. Lonergan Named a 2020 NLJ Real Estate/Construction Law Trailblazer

NEW YORK Jan. 23, 2020Kristen J. Lonergan, a real estate shareholder in the New York office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was recognized as a 2020 Real Estate/Construction Law Trailblazer by The National Law Journal (NLJ). The NLJ Trailblazer award recognizes movers and shakers in the legal industry who have made an impact in their sector through new types of strategies or innovative court cases.

Lonergan provides counsel to REITs, investment funds, developers, lenders and other clients on the acquisition, development, financing and disposition of multi-family, office, hotel and other types of properties throughout New York and the rest of the country. She also serves as co-administrative shareholder of the firm’s New York real estate group, where she manages the day-to-day business and affairs of the team, including recruiting and associate development.

Lonergan’s recent commercial real estate deals include the following representative transactions:

  • Representation of the management trustees of the Donald G. McNeely Revocable Trust, serving as lead deal counsel in the sale of all of the stock in SpaceCenter, Inc. and Logistixs, Inc. to Blackstone for a purchase price of +$1 billion.
  • Representation of the asset management unit of Seoul, Korea-based Mirae Asset Financial Group in the $5.8 billion acquisition of a 15-hotel portfolio in the U.S. from Anbang Insurance Group Co, marking the single-highest price tag for an overseas alternative investment by a Korean company.
