3 Greenberg Traurig Austin Attorneys Present at UT Law CLE 30th Annual Conference

AUSTIN – June 3, 2020 – Kendyl T. Hanks, Charles “Skip” Watson, and Nicole Leonard Córdoba, attorneys in the Austin office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP,  will present at the University of Texas School of Law Continuing Legal Education (CLE) 30th Annual Conference on State and Federal Appeals. The virtual conference will take place June 4-5, 2020.

Hanks and Córdoba will present in the session titled, “Beyond Breach: Recent Developments in Contract Issues” on June 4 at 9:55 a.m. They will discuss the recent decisions from the Texas Supreme Court concerning contract enforcement and how it adheres to the principle that contract rights in Texas are held sacred and shall be enforced.

Watson will speak at 12:40 p.m. on “Standards for Appellate Conduct.” Watson is presenting alongside attorney Kevin Dubose, whom he worked with in 1995 to lead an effort to draft the Standards for Appellate Conduct.

According to the website, the conference -- designed for advanced-level civil appellate practitioners -- has earned a reputation as the premier program on appellate practice and procedure in Texas and is a must-attend event for Texas civil appellate practitioners.

Hanks is a shareholder and an experienced business litigator and appellate advocate who is licensed in Texas and New York and represents clients throughout the country in state and federal forums. She represents clients from entrepreneurs, investors, executives and partnerships to Fortune 500 companies and burgeoning multinational firms.

Shareholder Watson represents clients on high-stakes appeals. He is one of fewer than 300 appellate attorneys nationally elected as a fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. For nearly two decades, he has served and advised the Texas Supreme Court as an appointed member of its 50-member Rules Advisory Committee. The Court unanimously adopted the Standards for Appellate Conduct drafted by the State Bar Appellate Section committee Watson chaired.

Córdoba is an associate in the Appellate Group. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for Chief Justice Nathan Hecht of the Supreme Court of Texas.
