Johnine Barnes to Participate in Women, Diversity & Change Virtual Summit

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sept. 21, 2020 – Johnine P. Barnes, Labor & Employment Practice Shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate in CenterForce’s 2020 Women, Diversity & Change Virtual Summit, “Awareness into Action: Inspiring Change” on Sept. 23. Attendees will explore the obstacles, risks, and rewards on the path to a fulfilling and productive career for women and minority leaders. The firm is also a sponsor of the event.

Barnes will speak on the “Dealing with Unconscious Bias & Discrimination” panel. The discussion will focus on recognizing unconscious bias, including the power of language, institutional bias, and training. It also will touch on reporting bias, formally and informally, by managers, peers, and direct reports.

Barnes’ practice includes  litigating and defending administrative claims of harassment, retaliation and discrimination; wrongful discharge and breach of contract issues.  Her practice also includes counseling clients on employment and labor  compliance issues.
