Cody J. Blades

Cody Blades focuses her practice on complex litigation in the agribusiness, financial services, life sciences, and manufacturing industries. She has considerable litigation experience in federal and state courts, defending clients in both large multi-district litigation and small single-plaintiff matters. Early in her career, Cody concentrated on plaintiffs’-side employment law, providing strategic perspective when defending clients. Because she has second-chaired multiple jury trials, Cody knows the importance of beginning complex litigation with a story and individually tailors strategies for each client to develop the evidence needed to effectively communicate that story to a jury.

Cody has prepared witnesses for both deposition and trial testimony and has deep experience taking and defending depositions. She has drafted and argued many motions in both state and federal court—including motions to dismiss, compel, quash, and for summary judgment. Cody also has experience negotiating settlements and participating in mediations.
