Dean Luo is a member of the Real Estate Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C. office. He assists entrepreneurial individuals, private equity funds, and private and public companies in the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, and management of all types of properties, as well as in joint venture formation. He has particular experience in complex real estate transactions in the digital infrastructure space.

  • Representation of data center operators/developers in connection with purchase, development, and lease transactions.
  • Represented a portfolio company of a global private equity firm in the leasing of a portfolio of data centers to a hyperscaler tenant, including drafting of build-to-suit leases, development agreements, and service level agreements, across 18 buildings and totaling over 1,000 megawatts in Arizona, Georgia, Texas, and Virginia.
  • Represented a leading real estate private equity firm in the self-storage sector in acquisitions throughout Florida, New Mexico, and Hawaii.
  • Represented a premier real estate private equity firm in the industrial sector in the acquisition of a portfolio of logistics real estate from Blackstone.
  • Represented a fast-growing real estate private equity firm in the affordable housing space in the acquisition of multifamily apartments in California.
  • Represented a prominent South Florida developer in the multi-phase acquisition and financing of a development site planned for luxurious condominiums and a hotel at the Diplomat Beach Resort, Florida.
  • Represented a major real estate private equity firm in the multi-phase disposition of a portfolio of hundreds of single-family rentals located in Texas and North Carolina.
  • Represented a property owner in the recapitalization and partial redevelopment of a large affordable housing development in Washington, D.C.°
  • Represented a purchaser in the acquisition and redevelopment of a shopping center in Washington, D.C.°
  • Represented a nonprofit developer in a Low Income Housing Tax Credit investor syndication buyout transaction.°
  • Counseled a nonprofit developer in a Freddie Mac permanent financing transaction for a high-rise affordable housing project in Baltimore, Maryland.°
  • Assisted a mezzanine lender in connection with the refinancing of a large portfolio of rent-controlled apartments in Washington, D.C.°
  • Assisted various lenders in closing numerous Federal Housing Administration-insured multifamily financings across the country.°
  • Provided zoning and land use opinions on the development potential of real properties throughout Northern Virginia.°
  • Represented a developer in the financing and closing of a transit-oriented mixed-use development next to a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority rail station.°
