Greenberg Traurig’s Michael H. Moody Elected President of Bankruptcy Bar Association for Northern District of Florida

TALLAHASSEE (October 24, 2014) – Michael H. Moody, a litigation associate in the Tallahassee office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been elected president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Northern District of Florida.

Formed in 1991, the Bankruptcy Bar Association facilitates educational opportunities and helps to strengthen relationships between bankruptcy lawyers both within the Northern District and across the state. The Bankruptcy Bar includes more than 100 practitioners from across North Florida, as well as members from other parts of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

Moody, who will serve for a one-year term, plans to focus on strengthening the relationships between the North Florida association and its sister associations throughout the Southeast.

“I am excited to take on this leadership role and look forward to helping raise the organization’s profile,” Moody said. “As an association, we are actively working to revise Local Rules, implement a new and improved website, and spearhead aggressive pro bono initiatives under the direction of Judge Karen K. Specie.”

At Greenberg Traurig, Moody has represented both debtors and creditors in resolving business disputes over the payment of money in out-of-court workouts and in bankruptcy cases in each district in Florida. He also focuses his practice on health care law, corporate defense, and complex business litigation in Florida state and federal courts. Moody is experienced representing class-action defendants, governmental agencies, fiduciaries charged with unwinding fraud and recovering assets, and persons and entities sued by fiduciaries.
