Wadyka Will Speak on Effective Civil Enforcement Strategies – The North American Perspective

Los Angeles, CA (June 24, 2014) – Steven J. Wadyka, Jr. a shareholder in the Washington D.C. office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be a speaker at the UL Brand Protection Conference on June 25, 2014 at The Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel. He will speak on the topic: “Effective Civil Enforcement Strategies – The North American Perspective.”

UL organized the 2014 conference to serve as a catalyst to strengthen and enhance brand protection programs, provide best practices for combatting IP crime and to strengthen global partnerships against this growing threat. The conference is an opportunity for UL customers and other IP rights holders to meet one-on-one with law enforcement personnel and IP crime experts to gain valuable insights into all aspects of brand protection. International, national and local experts will be on hand to provide a two-day training forum with innovative learning sessions that will include: operational workshops, interactive roundtables and a networking lounge. Additionally, UL will offer rights holders the opportunity to set up exhibition tables where they can provide product identification training to law enforcement attendees.

Wadyka focuses his practice on the protection, enforcement and defense of intellectual property rights. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in trademark infringement, copyright infringement, trade dress infringement, trademark dilution, false advertising, anti-counterfeiting and unfair competition litigation in federal courts throughout the United States. Steve serves as lead counsel in trademark, copyright and trade dress litigation, handling such matters as expedited injunction hearings, depositions and discovery, dispositive motions, jury and non-jury trials, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also is experienced in obtaining ex parte seizure and asset freeze orders to combat the distribution and sale of counterfeit goods. He received his J.D. from Emory University and B.A. from Columbia University.
