Greenberg Traurig’s Alan Greenfield, David Oppenheim, and Ali Brodie to Speak at West Coast Franchise Expo

NEW YORK – Nov. 9, 2015 – Franchise & Distribution shareholders Alan R. Greenfield and David W. Oppenheim and Business Immigration & Compliance associate Ali Brodie of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will speak at the International Franchise Association’s West Coast Franchise Expo Nov. 12-14, 2015, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Greenfield and Oppenheim will speak on a panel Thursday entitled “Structuring Your Franchise Network Expansion.” Brodie will speak on a panel Friday entitled “EB-5 Investor Program – Tool for Franchise Network Expansion.”

Greenfield concentrates his practice on international and domestic franchising, licensing, and distribution transactions. He counsels franchisors and manufacturers on everyday compliance and other franchise or distributor-related issues, such as registration and disclosure matters, negotiating agreements, relationship termination laws, maintaining good franchisee/distributor relations, and resolving disputes with franchisees/distributors. Greenfield’s extensive international practice consists of counseling a broad range of clients in structuring international expansion programs and expanding their brands around the globe through various means, such as area development, master franchising, and multiunit licensing. Greenfield also handles mergers and acquisitions and sophisticated financing transactions involving franchise, license, or distribution networks. Greenfield is recognized by Chambers USA and was named a “Legal Eagle” by Franchise Times in 2014-2015.

Oppenheim concentrates his practice on domestic and international franchising, licensing, and distribution matters. He is also experienced in mergers and acquisitions and sophisticated financing transactions, including the securitizations of a franchisor’s royalty stream. He represents private equity firms and public and private companies in the acquisition of franchise, licensing, and distribution systems. Oppenheim is a member of the ABA Forum on Franchising’s Governing Committee, is recognized by Chambers USA, was named a “Legal Eagle” by Franchise Times since 2006, has been featured in Best Lawyers in America since 2009, and has been has been featured in The International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers since 2010.

Brodie focuses her practice on global business immigration and employer compliance law. She has a wide range of experience handling employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, and naturalization/citizenship matters. Brodie also focuses on the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. She works with developers across a variety of industries on developing new projects that qualify for EB-5 investments. This includes the creation of new Regional Centers, having projects adopted by existing Regional Centers or through pooled individual EB-5 petitions. She also provides counsel to foreign nationals obtaining permanent residency through individual or Regional Center EB-5 investments, and has prepared and filed I-526 petitions for investors from around the world.
