Variety Legal Impact Report Selects Four Greenberg Traurig Attorneys

LOS ANGELES – April 14, 2015 – Four Greenberg Traurig Los Angeles shareholders – Tom Ara, Dan Black, Mathew Rosengart, and Jeff Scott – are featured among the 50 leading entertainment lawyers in Variety’s 2015 Legal Impact Report. This report spotlights the world’s top entertainment attorneys who have had a major impact on the entertainment industry over the past year. Ara focuses his practice on entertainment and media industry transactions. In addition, he advises feature film studios, television networks, production companies, and Internet and mobile-based content producers and distributors in corporate transactions as well as in the development, production, and distribution of motion picture, television, and new media content. Black, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s West Coast Entertainment & Media Practice, has extensive experience in the television, motion picture, and digital media arenas, having practiced law both in the major studio and law firm settings. Equally comfortable in the traditional and new media areas, representing corporations and individuals, he has served as lead counsel on numerous transactions with the major motion picture studios and television networks, in addition to major Internet content producing, licensing, and advertising entities. His clients include production and distribution, Internet, and video game companies, as well as advertising agencies, showrunners and producers, and on-air television and sports personalities. Black also possesses substantial experience in representing international clients in their entertainment industry-related matters.

Rosengart focuses on entertainment and complex commercial litigation. A former federal prosecutor, with substantial and diverse experience in entertainment litigation, Rosengart is noted for his trial experience and expertise, and for representing a number of Academy-Award-nominated writers, directors, and actors, as well as film production companies in high-profile entertainment litigation matters ranging from breach of contract to defamation to a range of film and television disputes.

Scott, co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles office and co-chair of the firm’s Class Action Group, has served as lead trial counsel for entertainment clients including major motion picture studios, leading gaming companies, and the global leader of the live events industry.
