Marriott-Starwood Merger Reveals Owners’ Consolidation Fears

A trend toward consolidation in the hotel industry — highlighted by Marriott International Inc.’s massive $13.6 billion merger with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Inc. inked in late 2015 — will cause owners to look again at their hotel management agreements in 2017, according to Nelson Migdal, a Greenberg Traurig LLP partner in Washington, D.C. and co-chair of the firm's Hospitality Group.
