Greenberg Traurig’s New Attorneys to Speak at Induction Ceremonies at Florida Supreme Court, Third District Court of Appeals

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (Oct. 3, 2017) – Greenberg Traurig P.A. West Palm Beach Law Clerk Laura D. Maxwell will be recognized as the invited student/inductee speaker at the ceremony for new attorneys to be held on Oct. 4 at 2:30 pm at the Florida Supreme Court in Tallahassee. On the same day, Miami Law Clerk Samuel C. Goodman will speak at the induction ceremony for new attorneys at 10:30 am at the Third District Court of Appeals in Miami. The honors are reserved for students/inductees who received some of the higher scores in the most recent Florida Bar Examination, which was administered in July.

“I am honored to participate in a ceremony that is so meaningful to all of us who are becoming attorneys in Florida,” said Maxwell, who is a member of the global law firm’s West Palm Beach office Real Estate Practice. “I hope to be able to provide some insight on how we can maintain perspective in our practice and fully appreciate the opportunity we have to be fulfilled lawyers.”

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to take part in such an important ceremony,” said Goodman, who is a member of the firm’s Miami office Corporate Practice. “I’m looking forward to providing my fellow inductees and their families with several meaningful concepts to reflect on as we begin the journey of practicing law.”

Maxwell received her J.D. from the Florida International University College of Law, where she was in the top 1 percent of her class and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Torts, Contracts, Civil Procedure, Legal Skills and Values, and Constitutional Law. She received her A.S. in Paralegal Studies summa cum laude from Indian River State College, and her B.S. in Diplomacy and International Relations magna cum laude from Seton Hall University.

Goodman received his J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Harvey T. Reid Scholar scholarship; CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Deal Skills: Cross Border Finance Transactions, Securities Regulation, Global Migration Policy and Law, and Criminal Procedure; and the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Award for Property and Civil Procedure. He received both his M.A. in International Business and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

“We congratulate Laura and Sam on their very significant achievements and welcome them to the firm,” said Matthew B. Gorson, Senior Chairman of Greenberg Traurig. “There is no doubt that they will be tremendous assets in our practice.”
