SAN FRANCISCO – May 24, 2017 – Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholder Magan Pritam Ray is scheduled to speak at three events this month, all in connection with her role as Chair of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California (ACLU NC), including: the ACLU’s “The Path Forward” program; the Santa Clara County Bar Association (SCCBA) Women Lawyers’ Section’s “From Having it All to Leaning In” seminar; and the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) and Foundation for Advocacy Inclusion & Resources’ (FAIR) Annual Diversity Leadership Summit.
On June 13, Ray will participate in an invitation-only conversation with Abdi Soltani, Executive Director of the ACLU NC, at the organization’s “The Path Forward” program in Palo Alto.
On June 15, Ray will participate on a panel – “The Indivisible Movement: Civic Engagement Like We’ve Never Seen Before” – as part of the SCCBA Women Lawyers’ Section’s 5th Annual “From Having it All to Leaning In” seminar at Cooley LLP’s Palo Alto office. On June 22, Ray will participate as the keynote speaker at the CELA and FAIR’s 6th Annual Diversity Summit at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.
Ray, resident in Greenberg Traurig’s Silicon Valley office, has wide-ranging experience in all facets of employee benefits and ERISA matters, including the design, implementation and operation of retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, cafeteria plans, fringe benefit plans and non-qualified deferred compensation programs. She also counsels clients on the business impact, strategic response, plan design and compliance with health care reform, and regularly advises Fortune 100 companies on issues in mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs and joint ventures. Ray has been involved with the ACLU NC for over a decade, having served on the organization’s Executive Committee and also chairing various committees. She earned her J.D., with distinction, from Stanford Law School (1994), her M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1989) and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1986).
