Three Attorneys Speak at Hotel Opportunities Latin American Conference and Caribbean Hotel and Resort Investment Summit in Miami

MIAMI – May 15, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Richard F. Davis and Fernando Orrantia will participate in the Hotel Opportunities Latin American (HOLA) conference, May 15-16, in Miami, Florida. The firm’s Michael J. Sullivan will participate at the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) May 16-18, also in Miami. The back-to-back annual conferences gather hotel executives, investors, developers, and industry professionals interested in the hotel markets of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Greenberg Traurig is a sponsor of HOLA, which will consist of information sessions on the latest trends in Latin America’s hotel industries. On May 15, Orrantia will moderate the panel, “Hotel Segments: A Focus on Select/Limited Service.” On May 16, Davis will participate as a panelist in a session titled, “The Multi-Facets & Opportunities of Mixed-Use Developments.”

At CHRIS, focusing on the Caribbean hotel industry, Sullivan will participate on the panel, “Negotiating the Best Agreement for your Hotel” on May 17.

Orrantia, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Mexico City office, focuses his practice in the real estate, commercial, and corporate law aspects of clients participating in diverse industries, including port services, petrochemical, and hospitality services, advising clients in complex international joint venture operations, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures of operations and assets, as well as domestic and cross border financing related to his client’s activities. Orrantia also advises clients in the environmental aspects of real estate, infrastructure, energy, and petrochemical projects.

Davis, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Hospitality Group and a shareholder in the firm’s Los Angeles office, focuses his practice on U.S. and international hotel, resort, and hospitality real estate, business, and finance law. He has represented many nationally and internationally known owners, developers, investors, operators, and lenders in all aspects of the hotel, resort, and hospitality industries. He has been involved in international transactions involving more than 17 countries with particular emphasis on Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, the People's Republic of China, South East Asia, and Europe.

Sullivan, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Hospitality Group and a shareholder in the firm’s Orlando office, has wide-ranging experience in the acquisition, development, finance, and disposition of hotels, resorts, branded residences, and condo-hotels; management, franchise, and operating agreements for hotels; publicly financed hotel management agreements; construction and permanent financings (balance sheet and CMBS); and the purchase of distressed mortgage debt instruments secured by hospitality-related real estate.
