GT's Bruce Fischer Chairs UCI Center for Real Estate’s Annual Spring Members Meeting

ORANGE COUNTY – June 20, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP's Bruce Fischer chaired and spoke at the University of California Irvine (UCI) Paul Merage School of Business’ 2018 Center for Real Estate Annual Spring Members Meeting held June 20. Speakers included prominent real estate professionals, academics, and business leaders who discussed the latest trends and innovations in commercial real estate.

Fischer, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s West Coast Real Estate Practice and co-managing shareholder of the Orange County office, is an advisory board member of UCI’s Center for Real Estate, and delivered the opening remarks of the meeting, which was titled, “Innovation: The Brainchild of Today’s Disruptive Digital World.”

Fischer also moderated the panel, “The Evolving Landscape of Housing and Mixed-Use Developments.” Panelists included Tom Tait, Mayor of the City of Anaheim; Gino Canori, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Related California Residential; Robert LeFever, Managing Director of Development of Greystar; and Jerome A. Fink, Managing Partner of The Bascom Group, LLC.

Fischer focuses his practice on working with real estate funds and real estate investment trusts (REITs) and their advisors in connection with the origination and purchase of, and participation in, senior and subordinate "mezzanine" loans and the purchase and sale, development and financing of commercial properties, directly or through the formation of joint ventures with local operators and/or developers.

The Center for Real Estate at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business focuses on making positive contributions in education and academic research, as well as outreach to the academic and professional business communities. The school views innovation and technology as important drivers of change as well as essential components in modern real estate decision-making.
