Greenberg Traurig Receives Equal Justice Pro Bono Award from Legal Services of Greater Miami

MIAMI – Oct. 25, 2019 – In recognition of Greenberg Traurig, P.A.'s sustained efforts to provide and support pro bono legal services for the underserved, the global law firm received the Equal Justice Pro Bono Award in the large firm category from Legal Services of Greater Miami on Oct. 24.

Legal Services of Greater Miami provides free civil legal services for the low-income communities of Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. The non-profit handles a variety of civil legal matters benefiting more than 20,000 individuals and families annually, recovering almost $2.6 million for clients in disability, unemployment, child support, and government benefits, according to the organization.

“We are honored to receive this award from Legal Services of Greater Miami and to support their efforts to make a difference in the lives of members of our underserved community,” said Brigid F. Cech Samole, chair of the Miami Appellate Department and a member of the firm’s national Appellate Practice. “Giving back to our community and providing a voice to those in need has always been a core value of our firm.”

Samole accepted the award for the firm in her capacity as Pro Bono Chair of the firm’s Miami office. In addition to Samole's contributions, the recognition also honors the work of a team of Greenberg Traurig attorneys: Miami Associates Rosemarie Aleman, Sandy Chiu, Necky Deneus, Eric Fisher, Phillip T.
