Lori Cohen Named to Benchmark Litigation’s 2020 Top 10 Women in Litigation

ATLANTA – Aug. 17, 2020Lori G. Cohen, Vice Chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP and co-chair of the firm’s Global Litigation Practice, has been selected as one of the "Top 10 Women in Litigation" in the 2020 Benchmark Litigation guide.

According to Benchmark Litigation, while the publication focuses on the leading Top 250 female litigators across the U.S., they also recognize a separate but elite group of leading lawyers who have been nominated specifically for their litigation acumen. Every year, Benchmark identifies the Top 10 litigators amongst these prominent individuals, nominated on the strength of historical and unwavering peer and client review, as well as proven achievements.

"I am proud to again be in the company of this revered group of litigators, for whom I have the greatest respect as colleagues and as women," said Cohen, who is no stranger to Benchmark Litigation honors. She has also been selected by the publication as follows: “National Practice Area Star (General Commercial, Health Care, Product Liability),” 2020; “Local Litigation Star,” 2020; "Top 100 Trial Lawyers," 2018-2020; "Product Liability Attorney of the Year," 2019; "National Litigation Star," 2019; "Top 10 Women Litigators," 2018-2019; and "Top 250 Women in Litigation," 2015-2019.

Nationally recognized for her extraordinary trial record of 57 defense verdicts, Cohen leads a global practice that focuses on complex litigation of all types, including products liability and pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care litigation. Cohen has served as national, regional, and trial counsel for numerous medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, handling all types of litigation, including class actions, multidistrict litigation, and trials nationally. Cohen and her team routinely take complex cases to trial and win, including some of the most complex mass torts in history. Well known for her record of winning high-stakes trials, Cohen is often called up to "parachute in" at the last minute before trial, especially in challenging cases in dangerous jurisdictions.

In an industry where two-thirds of all attorneys in civil cases are men and only a quarter of women serve as lead or trial counsel, Cohen stands out as a female leader and a champion of developing the next generation of attorneys. Cohen is also the chair of GT’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Group and chair of the Trial Practice Group.
