Libretta Stennes will moderate 'PFAS: an "emerging contaminant" twenty years later,' at the ABA Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s Toxic Torts & Environmental Law Committee Spring CLE Meeting. Jilllian C. Kirn will join her as a panelist.
As analytic chemistry continues to improve, ubiquitous trace contamination is found in more places. When the contaminants are not regulated, companies have complex problems to solve. PFAS is an example of a hot topic for 2020 that has been "emerging" for at least 20 years. This diverse and experienced panel will cover some of the latest topics and trends related to PFAS, including what is (and is not) medical monitoring, factors complicating decision-making for remedial action states, challenges and opportunities to address environmental risk from the underwriting perspective, and resources and strategies to stay on top of science, law and regulatory developments.
