California Lawyers Association IP Institute: Shifting Tides – Intellectual Property in a Changing World

The California Lawyers Association IP Institute: Shifting Tides – Intellectual Property in a Changing World will take place virtually November 9-10, 2021. GT's Scott J. Bornstein (Co-Managing Shareholder, New York; Co-Chair, Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice; and Co-Chair, Global Patent Litigation Group) will moderate the session, "Navigating Uncharted Waters: Intellectual Property in the Evolving Geopolitical Landscape," on November 9 at 9:10 PST. As geopolitical issues evolve, so do their impact on intellectual property trends, and vice versa. This session will discuss the interplay between geopolitics and current IP trends, technological innovation, and intellectual property law and policy. Among other issues, the session will discuss the Innovation Competition Act, as well as how IP trends are shaped by recent global events, such as the US-China Trade policy, IP piracy, ransomware and cybersecurity, adoption of AI-enabled technologies, and Covid-19 vaccine collaboration and diplomacy.
