A half-day seminar by Tampa Connection which is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide local business professionals with the necessary tools to become active leaders and volunteers in the Tampa Bay Community. Each year, a select group of applicants are chosen to participate in the Tampa Connection “class.” The year-long program exposes class members to leadership development, social, and community service opportunities while immersing them in the local community. At the core of Tampa Connection’s mission and the class experience are three foundational principles: leadership, relationships, and community.
This month's program, coordinated by Chris White, highlights ten community nonprofits and their missions, along with speakers who detail the benefits of community involvement. Jennifer Corinis will speak about her co-founding of Lockhart Elementary's Lunch Buddy program, a program that pairs elementary school children from a Title I school with professionals who commit to mentoring the children throughout the school term and in most cases for a multi-year commitment. Ms.
Corinis will also outline her involvement with The Tampa Museum of Art's new Elementary Educational program.
