Update: Latin America Renewable Energy Calls for Public Bids

Please find below an update of relevant considerations regarding the Calls for Public Bids in Renewable energy matters in Latin America.

Colombia

The submission date for UPME Public Call 10-2019 bids, for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Río Córdoba - Bonda 220 kV transmission line, was extended until July 22, 2020, in accordance with Addendum No. 9 of the public bid UPME 10-2019.

México

The private process for the supply of energy, power, clean energy certificates, and power congestion designed for participants of the national electricity industry announced by the company Vitol is still open. The procedure will be carried out through the website http://www.mexicoelectrico.com/.

It is important to note that the guidelines for the procedure are not available to the public.

Argentina

On May 6, 2020, the public tender launched by the Wholesale Electricity Market Management Company (CAMMESA) related to San Luis Hive III solar park (99,4 MW), and the Cristian Solar Park (80 MW) were declared void.

Ecuador

On June 16, 2020, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Ecuador announced the call for bid related to the construction of a 14,8 MW solar plant with energy storage capacity of up to 40,9 MWh to be carried out in the Galapagos Islands.

The submission term for technical and economic proposals is open through July 30, 2020.

Chile

On June 29, 2020, the Chilean National Energy Commission stated in a monthly report on unconventional renewable energy, that by December 2021 clean energy projects producing 5,647 MW will be in operation.
