Greenberg Traurig’s Michael G. Cooke to Speak at 2014 Florida Section Air and Waste Management Association Conference

TAMPA (Oct.  28, 2014) – Michael G. Cooke, an attorney in the Tampa Environmental Practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., will speak at the 2014 Florida Section Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA) 50th annual conference. The conference will be held Oct. 29-30 at the Hyatt Regency in Jacksonville, Florida.

Cooke will speak at the Florida Section A&WMA dinner Oct. 29. He will discuss climate change and the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed plan to regulate carbon emissions from existing power plants and its potential impacts on Florida plan.

The event will feature presentations and interactive panel discussions covering a variety of emerging technical, regulatory and sustainability topics. Greenberg Traurig is one of two Platinum Conference Sponsors for this year’s event.

The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization that promotes global environmental responsibility and provides a forum for public education, professional development and networking for more than 5,000 environmental professionals in 65 countries.

“I am honored to participate in this year’s conference,” Cooke said. “This annual event helps to educate others on the importance of environmental awareness.”

At Greenberg Traurig, Cooke concentrates his practice in administrative law, including environmental, utility and land use law. He represents industrial, agricultural, banking, government, and developer clients on matters involving clean air, climate change, electric generating facilities, renewable energy, telecommunications, utility plant and transmission line siting, water and wastewater issues.
