NEW YORK – Nov. 20, 2015 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was among the firms receiving sector-specific “deal of the year” awards at the 14th Annual M&A Advisor Awards Gala November 17 in New York City. According to the M&A Advisor, the awards honor the professionals whose activities set the standard for M&A transactions.

Greenberg Traurig was part of the deal teams that received the following Sector Deal of the Year awards:

  • Healthcare and Life Sciences Deal of the Year (from $10mm to $500mm) – Chapter 11 sale of ATLS Acquisition, LLC, dba Liberty Medical Supply, Inc.
  • Retail Manufacturing and Distribution Deal of the Year – Acquisition and restructuring of The Wet Seal, Inc. and its debtor affiliates by Mador Lending, LLC, an affiliate of Versa Capital Management, LLC

The Greenberg Traurig team that represented Liberty Medical was led by Nancy A. Mitchell and included Paul J. Keenan, Jr., Joseph P. Davis, Scott M. Grossman, Eric D. Hargan, Matthew W. Miller, Nancy E. Taylor, Kenneth Zuckerbrot, and Matthew L. Hinker.

The Greenberg Traurig team that represented Mador Lending, LLC was led by Nancy Peterman and Howard J. Steinberg, and included Andrew R. Cardonick, Marc E. Harrison, Todd A. Mazur, Chad D. Striker, Bruce Steinert, Paul R. Hogan, Paul T. Martin, and Jane Kim.

More than 280 nominees, representing over 690 companies, were finalists for the M&A awards. From that group, an independent judging committee of 25 top M&A industry experts determined the ultimate recipients of the awards, which included Greenberg Traurig.
