NEW YORK – Feb. 27, 2015 – The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was among the winning deal teams recognized at the 9th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards. The firm received awards in four categories:
- Restructuring of the Year (Over $500mm to $1 Billion) for its role in the restructuring of FriendFinder Networks
- Restructuring of the Year (Over $100mm to $500mm) for its role in the restructuring of ATLS Acquisition, LLC and nine of its affiliates (dba Liberty Medical)
- Consumer Services Deal of the Year for its role in the sale of ATLS Acquisition, LLC (dba Liberty Medical) to Liberty Medical, LLC
- Sec. 363 Sale of the Year (Under $100mm) for its role in the Section 363 sale of Hot Dog on a Stick
The FriendFinder Networks team was led by Nancy A. Mitchell and included David D. Cleary, Dennis A. Meloro, Matthew L. Hinker, and Paul T. Martin. This restructuring also won the Technology, Media, Telecom Deal of the Year (Over $100mm to $1 Billion) at the 2014 M&A Advisor Awards; the Media & Entertainment Turnaround of the Year Award at the 2014 Global M&A Network’s Turnaround Atlas Awards; and the Deal of Year award at the 2014 ACG New York Champion's Awards.
The ATLS Acquisition, LLC team was led by Nancy A. Mitchell and included Paul J. Keenan, Jr., Joseph P. Davis, and Matthew L. Hinker.
The Hot Dog on a Stick team was led by Marc R. Baluda and included Brandon G. Feingold, Renée W. O'Rourke, and Howard J. Steinberg.
The awards ceremony was held at Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Fla., in conjunction with the 2015 M&A Advisor Distressed Investing Summit. According to M&A Advisor, “the awards represent the best of the distressed investing and reorganization industry in 2014.” The nominations, representing over 250 participating companies, were judged by an independent jury of industry experts.
