BOSTON — April 15, 2015 — Barbara A. Jones, Corporate & Securities shareholder with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, served as host for the 42nd Annual Pepperdine University School of Law Dinner at the JW Marriott at LA Live Saturday, April 11, 2015. She provided opening remarks and introduced the evening’s program, “From the Paper Chase to Legally Blonde,” a panel discussion led by acclaimed legal scholar Arthur R. Miller.
Jones is a longtime member of the Board of Visitors of Pepperdine University School of Law, a 1989 magna cum laude graduate of the Law School, and the 2009 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Jones coordinates Greenberg Traurig’s Global Securities Practice and serves as co-coordinator of the firm’s interdisciplinary Conflict Minerals Compliance Initiative. She maintains a diverse corporate and securities law practice across industry groups, emphasizing complex international and domestic transactions, including private and public financings, IPOs, secondary offerings, PIPEs, alternative exit strategies, dual listings, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing transactions. Her work extends to complex regulatory reporting and compliance issues arising in connection with her transactional work and representation of publicly listed companies. She regularly serves as counsel to leading investment banks, financial institutions, and private equity groups, as well as public and private companies in life sciences and biotechnology, information technology, energy (traditional and renewable), mining, defense and security, telecommunications, media, entertainment, and sports. Jones is also active in the representation of Olympic athletes and sports-related organizations.
