BOSTON — June 8, 2015 — International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP congratulates its client, Jennifer A. Camacho, Chief Legal Officer of Gen9, Inc., on being shortlisted for the prestigious International Law Office (ILO) Global Counsel Awards in the Intellectual Property (IP) category. This award recognizes corporate counsel for their achievements across the full spectrum of in-house responsibility. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony Thursday, June 11, 2015 in New York.
Jennifer joined Gen9 from the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where she was a shareholder and co-chair of the Intellectual Property Group in the firm’s Boston office. In this capacity, she represented clients in the areas of synthetic biology, industrial biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, regenerative medicine, protein engineering, chemistry, and biofuels, among others, to secure, manage and defend their intellectual property rights. Prior, Jennifer was a partner at the international law firm of Proskauer Rose LLP. Her in-house experience also includes Vice President of IP and Chief Patent Counsel at another early-stage biotechnology company. Jennifer is routinely recognized for her leadership and legal acumen, particularly in the life sciences and emerging technology sectors. She was named an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property magazine and was awarded the Tech Luminary and Innovation All-Star Award by the Boston Business Journal and Mass High Tech. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Boston College Law School.
According to ILO’s website, Global Counsel Award honorees are selected through in-depth analysis of in-house lawyers and legal departments worldwide. In 2015, over 4,000 individual nominations from corporate counsel and law firm partners were received, among which a handful were carefully selected for each category to recognize those who excel in their specific roles. Jennifer is the only counsel from a life sciences company being shortlisted in the IP category.
