Greenberg Traurig Texas Expands with Addition of 3 Attorneys: International Energy Lawyer Alfredo Ramos and 2 Associates

HOUSTON – Oct. 10, 2016 – Continuing its strategic growth in Texas, the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has added two new attorneys to the Houston office and one associate in Dallas. Alfredo Ramos, who joins the firm as a shareholder in Houston, was previously a partner at Gardere. Angeles Garcia Cassin, an associate with litigation and employment law experience, joins Greenberg Traurig’s Houston office from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Lindzi M. Timberlake, an associate with health care law experience, joins Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas office from McGuire Woods.

Ramos concentrates his practice on energy and international project development with a focus on the energy industry and business interests throughout Latin America, including exploration and production, pipelines, gathering, storage and energy services. As a bilingual attorney with both in-house and law firm experience, Alfredo serves clients by drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, such as: mineral property purchase and sale agreements, joint venture and joint operating agreements, NGL/condensate purchase, processing and transportation agreements and farm-in and farm-out agreements. Ramos holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law.

Cassin focuses her practice on commercial litigation and labor and employment matters. In her preventative employment practice, she advises clients and defends against claims arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Older Workers Benefits Protection Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Angeles also handles matters related to Title VII discrimination and retaliation as well as workers’ compensation retaliation claims. As a commercial litigator, Angeles helps represent companies of all sizes in jury trials, depositions, summary judgment hearings and mediations. Cassin earned a B.A. from Wellesley College and her J.D. from University of Houston Law Center.

Timberlake focuses her practice on the health care industry, where she handles matters involving federal and state regulatory compliance, health care transactions, fraud and abuse prevention, privacy and confidentiality requirements and certificate of need issues. Lindzi advises clients on a range of health care issues, including the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and safe harbors, Stark law and exceptions, False Claims Act, overpayment auditing and reporting, Medicare secondary payer, state fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, corporate practice of medicine, state health care facility licensing, and state health care provider licensing. Timberlake holds a B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.P.H. from The University of Texas School of Public Health, and a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law.
