Greenberg Traurig Adds Lisa Li and Sonia Nguyen; Elevates Katharine Malone in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO – Nov. 17, 2016 – Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s San Francisco office has added Lisa Li as an associate in its Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and Sonia Nguyen as a resident attorney in its Health & FDA Business Practice. They will join Katharine L. Malone, who was elevated to associate, within the firm’s Litigation Practice.

Li focuses her practice on patent, trademark and copyright litigation, as well as prosecution, management and enforcement of trademarks globally. Lisa litigates in federal district courts and in front of the International Trade Commission (ITC). She also advises clients of all sizes on a wide variety of intellectual property transactions. Lisa is regularly involved in cross-border litigations and transactions, particularly matters involving biotech, consumer electronics, mobile apps and internet software. Lisa is fluent in Mandarin and has extensive experience counseling Chinese clients. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law (2008) and a B.S., with honors in Biology and Chemistry, from the University of California, Irvine (2002). Li comes to the firm from Wilmer Hale where she was a senior associate.

Nguyen focuses her practice on health care related legal issues, including advising Academic Medical Centers (AMC), research and development, and health care transactions. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law (2015), an M.S. in Gerontology, from the University of Southern California (2012) and a B.A. in Health and Humanity, from the University of Southern California (2008). Nguyen comes to the firm from UCSF’s Industry Contracts Division where she was the industry contracts associate officer.

Malone focuses her practice on commercial litigation matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Katharine represents companies and individuals in state and federal court in matters related to breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, employee mobility issues and trade secrets. Katharine also regularly counsels clients on drafting various licensing and employment agreements. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law (2012) and a B.A. in Political Science, from The George Washington University (2007).
