Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Nanette Aguirre and Obiamaka Madubuko Speak at FLAIA Conference

NEW YORK– Nov. 29, 2016 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Nanette Aguirre and Obiamaka P. Madubuko will be participating in the Florida Alternative Investment Association’s (FLAIA) A Global Macro Perspective forum Nov. 29 at the Epic Hotel in Miami, Florida. The forum aims to aid in the establishment of Florida as the leading destination for alternative investments.

Aguirre, a Corporate & Securities shareholder in the firm’s New York office, sits on the board of FLAIA, and will be moderating the forum’s panel on Cyber Security in addition to delivering opening remarks regarding market trends and projections for 2017. With more than 15 years of experience on Wall Street and as outside counsel, she is experienced in negotiating all forms of derivative, structured products, repurchase, and related trading vehicles (including fintech), prime brokerage agreements with global market participants and counsels her clients on related cross border regulation including the Dodd Frank Act. Aguirre works with clients throughout the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Europe and works closely with hedge funds, private equity funds, family offices, pension plans, and financial institutions. She is admitted to practice only in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Madubuko, a Litigation and Compliance shareholder in the firm’s New York office, will be participating on the forum’s Cyber Security panel alongside Meyer Ben-Reuven, Founder and CEO of Chelsea Technologies; J. Paul Haynes, Executive Chief Officer of eSentire; and Erich Kron, Security Awareness Advocate at KnowBe4. Madubuko has counseled clients on cybersecurity defense and data breach response, as well as compliance with international anti-bribery laws such as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She advises clients doing business in international markets and focuses her practice on anti-corruption and fraud matters, particularly in emerging markets. Madubuko is also an experienced litigator representing clients in complex criminal and civil actions before federal and state courts and agencies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Congress. Madubuko’s litigation experience spans a broad range of industries, including aerospace and defense, consumer products, energy and mining, financial services, health care, manufacturing, media and entertainment, real estate, securities, and technology and telecommunication. Madubuko is admitted to practice only in the state of New York.
