Greenberg Traurig's Dallas office has hired three laterals from DLA Piper, including Karl Dial, the former managing partner of the Dallas office.
Dial and Casey Moore joined Greenberg Traurig's litigation practice as shareholders on April 1, and Samuel Davison joined as an associate. Dial does complex commercial litigation and Moore does commercial and financial services litigation.
Dial said he made the move because of Greenberg Traurig's "thriving" Dallas office and a solid commitment from the firm's management to Texas and Dallas in particular.
"I was attracted to the energy of this growing office," Dial said.
Dial said they brought clients with them, but he declined to identify them.
Joseph Coniglio, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig's Dallas office, said the litigation practice is a strength of the firm's Texas offices, but the group of lateral hires adds bench strength. "We continue to look for unique practices that add value," he said.
