NEW YORK – May 12, 2016 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to respond to client needs by attracting additional top-tier talent to its Capital Markets and Latin American and Iberian practices, most recently adding Marc M. Rossell as a Corporate & Securities shareholder in the New York City office. Rossell will be a leader in the firm’s Latin American Capital Markets Practice in New York. Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Rossell was a partner at Chadbourne & Parke LLP, where he was head of the Capital Markets Group.
Rossell focuses his practice on securities offerings, including both equity and debt offerings. He has been involved in many of the largest securities offerings out of Latin America, including landmark privatization offerings by the Argentine government's national oil company and telephone companies, the privatization of the Peruvian telephone company, as well as many high-yield debt offerings and equity offerings of companies in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela, among others. Earlier in his career, Rossell spent a considerable amount of time as bank advisory committee counsel, focusing on the restructuring of the external debt of many countries in Latin America. More recently, he has focused on the issuance of project bonds to finance construction projects in several innovative transactions.
“Marc’s addition to our award-winning Latin American and Iberian Practice is part of our growth and development strategy to enhance the depth of resources for the practice,” said Patricia Menéndez-Cambó, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Corporate & Securities Practice. “We are certain that Marc’s considerable capital markets experience, with particular focus on the Latin American region, will further complement our existing capabilities while meeting our clients’ complex needs. We are pleased to welcome him to the firm.”
“We’re delighted to have Marc join the Latin American and Iberian Practice,” said Yosbel A. Ibarra, co-chair of the Latin American and Iberian Practice. “With his deep knowledge and understanding of capital markets, Marc will add considerable value to our clients across the region and help us respond to the growing demand we’ve seen in this area.”
“I was drawn to Greenberg Traurig's cross disciplinary platform and the value added proposition the firm provides to clients – local resources and the global reach of more than 1,950 attorneys in 38 offices worldwide in key areas of legal practice for sophisticated end users of quality legal services,” said Rossell. “The deep bench strength of the firm’s Latin American and Iberian Practice allowed me to make a move that is a win-win for me and for my clients.”
Greenberg Traurig’s Latin American and Iberian team includes attorneys located in the firm’s Chicago, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, and New York offices. Many of the attorneys previously served as chief legal officers and regional counsel for multinational companies including multilatinas in various industries, such as telecommunications, banking, energy, infrastructure and hospitality.
Greenberg Traurig’s Mexico City office advises domestic and international clients with respect to their interests in Mexico City and across the region. The lawyers in Mexico City work closely with colleagues located in other offices across the firm to represent Mexican and Latin American clients in connection with their transactional and regulatory matters in the United States and other international markets. The Mexico City office is one of the largest law firms in Mexico with approximately 40 bilingual, dual-licensed attorneys. Greenberg Traurig’s multidisciplinary team of award-winning lawyers has wide-ranging experience representing U.S. and international clients who do business in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula, as well as advising Latin American and Spanish clients on their business ventures in the U.S.
